Blandy House, Henley on Thames
Now a dental practice, the Grade II listed Blandy House on Hart Street was the home of Mary Blandy, who was executed on 6 April 1752 for poisoning her father, Francis Blandy. In his book ‘The Ghosts’ Who’s Who’ (1977), Jack Hallam states that Mary Blandy’s ghost has “meandered around, walking beside the river, in the graveyard, and standing under an old mulberry tree in the garden of the house where she lived”.
Another account of this apparition mentions it has been several times standing under the mulberry tree at the bottom of the garden and apparently on two occasions a second shadowy male figure has been seen beside her.
